Growing Up, Playing More

He's walking!!! It's nice now that summer is coming to have a "walker". I was not excited about the prospect of having all the knees on is pants wear out. He get's better and better every day. On Monday (when these pictures were taken) it as almost 75 degrees here and we took advantage and the kids went through the sprinklers! They had a blast. Needless to say, we are very excited for summer.

As Lance gets older these two love playing more and more. Olivia is quite patient with Lance and Lance rarely objects to anything Olivia does. It is pure joy watching them together.

Olivia is still loving to dance all around. Her second dance recital is coming up and she likes to practice at home.

A much needed update!!

Mark asked to have a lemon cake for his birthday. It turned out really good. And guess who took this picture. . .Olivia. She loves to get a hold of the camera and she does a pretty good job. Mark also took a few days off for his birthday. We had a great, long weekend. We pruned trees, watched movies, played "Old Maid" and "Pretty, Pretty Princess" and just hung out. Oh yeah, we also finished the backsplash in out kitchen, can you see it in the background?

Olivia and Lance have such a good time together. Olivia loves to take care of him and help me and Lance loves the attention.

LANCE - AKA "TROUBLE"
Lance is pure joy, but pure trouble. He is getting into everything and loving it! He loves to empty dirt out of pots, empty utensils out of the dishwasher, empty clothes out of the dryer, and unroll the toilet paper. He hears the word "no" and smiles, which unfortunately, makes his mom smile. . .I need to work on that.

A Cat and a Dog

Olivia had one of her "great ideas" last week. She would dress up as a cat and Lance could dress up as a dog. These cat costumes they are wearing were made by my mom twenty plus years ago for Ali and me. I wish I had a video camera, because I have seen few things cuter than a crawling baby "dog" chasing after his crawling "cat" sister.
Posing for the camera. These kids are well trained!
Lance LOVES his big sister!

Random Pictures

We had new countertops put in, along with a new sink and faucet. We are very happy with the finished product and even happier to have our kitchen back. We will be putting our backsplash in on our own in the next few weeks.

We had a great time having Mark home with us for a few days while the countertops were being put in.

Lance loves apples, but didn't expect a green apple to be so sour.

Getting Creative in the New Year

My sister Ali made new bedding for her little girl yesterday and inspired me to do the same. Mine isn't nearly as cute (http://kuhruafamily.blogspot.com) but, hey, it was free. I just used sheets I already had to cover and old comforter!
Olivia helped me by handing me pins and holding the tape measure. She loved cuddling up when it was done.
The comforter on the right was one I bought months ago. But I have had a mismatched one on the left bed. I also made some extra pillows out of left over curtain fabric and the left over fabric from the "duvet cover".

The striped sheet is one that Mark's parents gave to us when we got married. I LOVE it and have always wanted to do something with it.
